    C'est sous le nom de The John Handy Quintet , que le cinquième album de John Handy enregistré en Juillet 1966 ; " The 2nd John Handy Album " est édité en Amérique sur le label Columbia Records CL 2567 ( Mono ) / CS 9367 ( Stereo ) [ US ] en Octobre 1966 . Il est également publié au Canada sur le label Columbia Records CL 2567 ( Mono ) / CS 9367 ( Stereo ) [ CA ] , en Angleterre sur le label CBS Records BPG 62881 ( Mono ) / SBPG 62881 ( Stereo ) [ UK ] , en France sur le label CBS Records S 62.881 / S 62881 ( Stereo ) [ FR ] la même année , au Japon sur le label CBS Records YS-767-C ( Stereo ) [ JP ] et en Australie sur les labels Columbia Records BP 233406 ( Mono ) / CBS Records SBP 233406 / CS 9367 ( Stereo ) [ AU ] en 1967 . Il fait l'objet d'une réédition en Amérique sous la forme d'un cd sur le label Koch Jazz Records KOC 3-7812-2H1 [ US ] en 1997 . Le deuxième album pour Columbia Records de l'altoiste John Richard Handy III , était en fait son quatrième en tant que leader . Utilisant les mêmes musiciens qui l'avaient rejoint lors de son set sensationnel au Monterey Jazz Festival de 1965 ( le violoniste Michael White , le guitariste Jerry Hahn , le bassiste Don Thompson et le batteur Terry Clarke ) , John Richard Handy III interprète cinq de ses originaux complexes mais accessibles , dont le " Theme X " ( en 5/4 ) , l'entraînant " Blues For A Highstrung Guitar " et l'aventureux "Scheme #1 " . La réédition sur CD ajoute trois prises alternatives inédites au programme précédent . Ce serait le seul album studio du groupe , et après leur dissolution , ils ne se sont réunis qu'en 1994 .
